Auld Plan Syne

Tune: Auld Lang Syne

Should last year’s plan now be forgot
And never brought to mind,
Or is it just too out of date
For use of any kind?

Chorus:    We do it for a laugh, my dear,
We do it for a laugh,
Our corporate plan will get the same
When we show it to our staff.

We try a different structure
With new acronyms galore,
But always it’s the same old mess
We’ve seen ten times before.

Chorus

Is planning just a clever plot
To keep our minds off drink,
Or is its purpose darker yet
To push us past the brink?

Chorus

Note: acronyms (verse 2). This can be replaced by any three letter planning acronym that is currently trendy, e.g. we usually sing KRAs = Key Result Areas.
