Early one morning just as the sun was rising
I heard a cleaner singing in the foyer below:
“O don’t retire me, O never fire me,
How could you use a poor cleaner so!
“Remember the contract that you signed with your cleaner
Remember the safeguards you said were all the go
O don’t retire me, O never fire me,
How could you use a poor cleaner so!
“Polished are the floorboards and sparkling the toilets
Empty are the rubbish bins wherever I may go
O don’t retire me, O never fire me,
How could you use a poor cleaner so!”
Thus sang the poor cleaner, his sorrows bewailing,
Thus sang the poor cleaner in the foyer below:
“O don’t retire me, O never fire me,
How could you use a poor cleaner so!”
